Description
A dress that is a true sustainability masterpiece. This garment was originally worn by the formerly-known San Marco Battalion of the Italian Navy so that they would be camouflaged on the ground and not seen in the event of enemy air patrols. The jumpsuit and sleeves have been shortened to become a mini dress, then embellished with a hand-sewn collar and pleated skirt comprising 1 metre of PINKO archive-retrieved cloud-patterned jacquard fabric. The piece is part of the REIMAGINE PINKO Summer 21 Edition capsule collection, created in collaboration with – and thanks to the innovative creativity of – Patrick McDowell. It took 2 hours to make this item. Any apparent imperfections are actually traces of this garment’s previous life and truly encapsulate the meaning of real recycling.
